The Makita 18V LXT is a 18V-class platform introduced in 2009, built around a 5x 18650 (10x 21700 on 6Ah+) cell pack. All 18V LXT batteries fit all 18V LXT tools. Two 18V LXT packs power Makita ‘X2’ 36V (LXT) tools.
Legacy & cross-generation: LXT slide pack does NOT fit the older Makita 18V stick/NiMH tools.

Are Makita LXT (18V) and XGT (40V) batteries interchangeable? +
No. LXT 18V and XGT 40V are separate platforms with different battery feet and do not interchange. Makita makes only a charger-side adapter (ADP10), not a tool adapter.
