The DeWalt FlexVolt (20V/60V) is a 36-40V platform introduced in 2016, built around a 15x 21700 (3 strings of 5), auto-switching 20V<->60V cell pack. FlexVolt packs run in 20V MAX mode on any 20V MAX tool, and in 60V mode on FlexVolt tools. Backward-compatible; not forward (a 20V MAX pack cannot run a 60V tool).
Worth knowing: Mechanically shares the 20V MAX foot, which is why FlexVolt packs drop into 20V MAX tools.
